Lesson 23 of 28
Relationships and Forgiveness
Apply the gospel to conflict, speech, boundaries, reconciliation, and forgiveness.
Speak truth with love
Christian communication should be honest, gracious, timely, and aimed at helping rather than tearing down.
Where to read: Ephesians 4:25–32.
Ephesians 4:29“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying.”
Pursue peace wisely
Jesus calls us to seek reconciliation. Peace does not mean pretending harm did not happen or refusing wise boundaries.
Where to read: Matthew 18:15–20.
Romans 12:18“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
Forgive as forgiven people
Forgiveness releases personal revenge to God. Trust may need to be rebuilt, but bitterness must not rule us.
Where to read: Colossians 3:12–15.
Colossians 3:13“Forgiving one another... even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”
